Flea Market finds

Joining in again with Sophie's Flea Market Finds. I have been seeing a lot of vintage tins around lately, and it reminded me of all my tins. They are scattered throughout the house, so they often get forgotten about. I have a bit of a rule about buying vintage tins. Never pay more than $4.00. I have got all these from various op shops and the large rectangle one at the back I got from my local flea market. The one and only time I have been actually. For a whole $3.00. Bargain.

my creative space...

I was a bit worried there for a while that I wouldn't have anything to show for the very first creative space of 2010, but with Miss 12 back at school yesterday, and it being too hot to really do much else, I sat in the air-con and did a bit of stitching. Valentine stitching to be precise. I have had the idea of making some rustic little stitched hearts backed with chenille and filled with lavender for some time, so I made a start yesterday. Whether or not these end up for sale in my shop in time for Valentines day is another matter entirely!

I also started stitching something that has also been on my mind for a little while, it had me cracking up all day. Hopefully there will be more progress shots of that one next week.

Head over to the creative space Queen and see what she has going on. Looks very cool.

Back to school

How long do you think it will take before taking Mums home baked goods to school is no longer cool? I hope it's not too soon. Hope you have fun baby, on your first day of High School.

Note to self....

You know you suck at instructions. You know you are a visual learner. You know your Mum rocks at this stuff, stop kidding yourself you could ever match up.

On the other hand, maybe I just invented a new type of crochet.... ugh, who are you trying to kid!

Hearting

Aren't I lucky? I won a giveaway that Sophie was hosting.

And I do.

Heart Craft and Coffee that is.

Thanks Sophie!

And it also seems in my post-Christmas/New Year pre-12 year-old-attending-High-School-for-the-first-time haze, I forgot about my 1 year blogeversary. It was yesterday. So Happy Birthday blog!

Flea Market finds

Well, technically op shop finds, but Sophie doesn't really mind! Thought I'd join in with Sophie's fun new meme she has started this year with the gorgeous vintage sheets I picked up yesterday at my local oppy. $2.50 per sheet. The way op shop prices should be. How nice do they look hanging on the line in the beautiful Queensland sunshine?

Having a clear out

Well, trying to! Why is it so hard to part with vintage patterns that you know you will never use?! I've been listing a few in my etsy store today with more to come during the week. I need to be ruthless and clear these things out! I've also marked down a few things that may end up getting pulled down, so if you want them, be quick!

First project for 2010

I wanted the first project of the new year to be somewhat symbolic of where I feel I'm heading in 2010. So I put together an inspiration board. I picked up a plain corkboard from Ikea and grabbed a really cute remnant piece of Ikea fabric and laid that over the corkboard. A simple 10 minute job but quite satisfying. Now I just need Mr Vintage to put it up on the wall for me!

Bring on the new year!
